New Zealand Nature Tours and Wine Exposed are owned and operated by myself, Noel
Kennedy. I have a long-standing interest in the natural history of New Zealand, and have spent many
enjoyable years using this passion in my work.
My early working life was spent as a rural landscaper. This involved the protection and
revegetation of native bush areas and development of wildlife habitats. I was one of the first
people in New Zealand to research, propagate and mass-produce native plants on an ecological basis
and was awarded the Business Personality of the Year award for this work.
Following that work, I decided to study a course in Tourism Outdoor Awareness and subsequently
became involved in the research and development of several natural history tourist ventures.
I had a very interesting three years managing the Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre. Among
the activities I got involved in were rare bird and historical site surveys.
In my spare time, I have tramped and guided extensively throughout the southern part of New
Zealand and, through my own experiences, have developed an intimate knowledge of many of the
natural attractions the South Island has to offer. I have extensive knowledge of the wines and wine
regions of New Zealand, gained through a job in retail wine sales and national distribution . My
other major passion is sea kayaking and there are now very few lakes, bush-clad rivers and streams
and coastal areas that I have not explored.
Now I am keen to impart some of my knowledge to you. I have spent a large part of my time
designing my tours so that others may experience the wonder of the places I have already discovered
for myself. Contact me to find out more.
